The BFP occurrence is located approximately half way between the north ends of Babine and Natowite lakes, approximately 6.6 kilometres north of the north west end of Nizik Lake.

The area is underlain by Early to Middle Jurassic rocks of the Saddle Hill Formation, Hazeltone Group. The strata is intruded by Late Cretaceous to Eocene dioritic rock.

Two samples of angular Babine Feldspar Porphyry float taken in 2007 by Midland Recording Services Ltd on their Babine project claims were strongly altered and carried disseminated sulfides including chalcopyrite. This rock type is the host for most of the porphyry deposits in the Babine Lake area. A sample from this work yield 0.17 per cent copper samples (Assessment Report 29629). Samples collected in 1997 by Pacific Booker Minerals Inc in the same area were of propylitically altered volcanic bedrock with chalcopyrite and bornite (Assessment Report 25401). A sample from this work yield 0.16 per cent copper samples (Assessment Report 25401).

A two part exploration program was completed on the Babine claims in 2007 by Midland Recording Services Ltd, at which time the prospecting was conducted and 79 rock samples were collected.

In 2008, a rock sample (7R41820) of amygdaloidal basalt with magnetite and minor chalcopyrite, located approximately 1 kilometre to the northwest of the BFP occurrence, assayed 0.134 per cent copper (Assessment Report 30720).
